January Beauty Favourites

1/ Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream
Around this time of year I get extremely chapped lips... and hands and nose, and sometimes my hairline. It's a mixture of cycling, harsh central heating and fierce winds. Very annoying but this miracle balm works wonders, you can use it for anything and everything (even on your hair) but it's forte is soothing dry and chapped delicate skin. Some people don't like the distinctive scent (I do) but you can now get it fragrance free. Anyway, this product is cult for a reason - get some in your makeup bag.

2/ Molton Brown Pink Pepperpot Bodywash
I've recently taken a liking to baths when a few years ago I probably didn't have a bath from one year to the next - maybe it's getting older but I need something to soothe these old bones and a luxurious soak always hits the spot. Molton Brown, hands down, do the best bath products, they're really gentle on skin and smell fab. This Pink Pepperpot fragrance is just the best - a mix between spicy and fresh - plus you can use it as a showergel too.

3/ Diptyque Epice Candle
Diptyque candles have become essentials rather than luxuries to me in the last few years - I stress out if I have less than two on the go (ironic really as the purpose of scented candles is to destress, no?). They make any room feel like a palace and are crucial to my afore-mentioned relaxing baths. This limited edition Epice scent is a delight - I get warm, spicy cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and amber - basically all the good stuff you want on a winter's night.

GLITTER LIPS Lip Glitter in Cherry Pie

This is one product you definitely need on your Christmas list

This is a lip product that I randomly saw on Twitter and I just HAD to try it - it looked amazing. I've long been a fan of a glittery lip, however, they are notoriously hard to achieve. Also glitter is the most annoying substance known to man - it just gets everywhere... or so I thought.

Glitter Lips promises to give you long-lasting, non-messy and super glittery lips. Which is a huge claim but I can contest that it's true. To apply you simply paint on a kind of glossy glue, then press on an ultra fine glitter - I was very dubious at first but as if by magic the glitter didn't stick to my face at all. Just the glue on my lips. The whole application took about 1 minute and the photos here are of my very first attempt - which I think is pretty good.

I also, in the name of research, had a cup of tea and a vigourus rub of my lips and the glitter stayed put. I can't believe it.

The photos don't really do the Glitter Lips justice  they are sooooooooooooooooo sparkly and pretty and I will 100% be rocking these to my Christmas party.

Grab yours HERE - I am literally in love with this product (and I haven't been paid to say this, I really do love it, although the Glitter Lips were kindly gifted to me.)

Price: £12.50

Packaging: Doesn't do the product justice

Coverage: Excellent

Overall review: 9/10 The product is so unique and really works but the packaging could be improved

#bbloggers Review: Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch

To start off, an FYI, being new these Babylips lipbalms by Maybelline are now on offer in Superdrug for a very purse friendly £2.99. So get in there!

I bought this, as opposed to my usual Cherry Chapstick due to the fact that it's SPF 20 and I'm a bit obsessed with sun-protection at the moment as I accidentally got burnt a few weeks back for the first time and it ain't nice- not to mention ageing!

The formula of this is really light and silky and leaves your lips feeling super hydrated, but not sticky. Apparently the formula offers 8-hour hydration, but I'm a bit dubious about claims like that. Who only applies balm every 8 hours?!

I got Pink Punch which has a lovely fruity scent (not sure which fruit) and give lips a subtle pink tone which is perfect for a fresh-faced look.

Overall, this is a pretty good lip balm. I could be tempted to switch from my beloved Lipsmackers and Chapsticks as the formula is really different- really smooth.

Have you tried Babylips yet?
